Dog rescue and rehoming centres do their best to look after and find new homes for dogs that have become homeless for one reason or another. These rescue dogs may have simply gotten lost, been abandoned or surrendered by former owners who were unable to keep their dog any longer and some may have been abused.
Dog rescue centres work to rehome dogs with suitable owners, and the dogs themselves make great pets, often wanting little more than care and attention.
If you're considering getting a new dog, we would ask you to have a look at the dog rescue centres near you to see if they have one you could offer a home. If there's a dog rescue listed below which is in your area and you'd like to know more about them, click the 'More Information' button to see a description of what they do, contact details and a map showing their location.
